Natasha Loges / musicologist
Natasha Loges is an esteemed scholar of German song, gender, concert history, the relationships between text and music, and lives and works of Brahms and Robert and Clara Schumann. She holds her own chair at the Royal College of Music and is professor of musicology at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg. Her publications include a number of editions on Brahms' life and works. She is currently co-editor of three collections of essays on female pianists worldwide, among others, and is working on a biography on Pauline Viardot. Outside her academic activities, Loges can regularly be heard on BBC Radio 3 - including as a song pianist - , writes for the BBC Music Magazine and gives lectures.
