Soprano Karola Pavone and pianist Boris Radulovic

Soprano Karola Pavone and pianist Boris Radulović participated in the very first master classes in 2016, gave a recital for emerging talent and won the first edition of the Young Artist Platform in October 2021. This gave them the opportunity to perform on stage with us again in 2022 as well as at the Oxford International Song Festival. So a lot has happened.

Karola: 'We both think back to beautiful Zeist and the song festival at least twice a week with great pleasure. Since our last performance, Boris and I have given several song recitals in Germany and, of course, in Oxford, where we had the honour of being part of the Schubert Weekend at Holywell Music Room. In addition to Schubert's Mayrhofer songs, we performed the world premiere of Dimitri Terzakis' Aus den Idyllen von Theokrit, a song written for us this year. Next year, we will take up the programme Eros & Psyche that we brought to Oxford on CD.'

Both have a full agenda besides performing as a song duo: 'Boris works as a teacher and mentor and recently became assistant professor at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. There he likes to share his experience and passion with the next generation of pianists. I myself was allowed to play the title role in Handel's Agrippina interpreting at the Oper Bonn and I am currently part of the cast of Il Trittico at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. I am enjoying my vibrant concert career. And of course we hope to return to Zeist one day!'
