The nominations for the Zeister Volunteer Awards 2023 have been announced. In the 'group prize for culture' category, the entire festival team has been nominated. Of course we are very proud, because our volunteers help to ensure that everything runs like clockwork. Our team is eager to use the prize money to let even more people enjoy the song. Because if they win, they can organise a recital in Hospice Heuvelrug and offer professional bodypercussion lessons to pupils who will participate in the school project in 2024.
Especially the latter is special, explains volunteer coordinator Lucie Spreij: 'We want to give a body percussion workshop in April 2024 at all schools participating in the primary school project, provided by Heiko de Jonge, music teacher at Bartiméus. Now the pupils receive singing workshops, but body percussion is an added value for some of the songs in next year's project. It would be great if pupils from regular primary schools could also learn to play body percussion, just like the Bartiméus pupils can. This gives extra connection between the pupils from the schools in Zeist while singing the songs to the performance.'
Will you help make that possible by casting your vote? Voting is open until 3 December next.
