Before the start of the festival in May, you will receive one free ticket for the recital on Thursday 22 May Showcases by baritone Florian Störtz and pianist Mark Rogers and by soprano Clara Barbier Serrano and pianist Joanna Kacperek and a passport to the public master classes for professionals.

During the practice workshop on Monday 19 May, Gilbert den Broeder will be your pianist and vocal coach. You will choose songs that fit the festival theme The future of music - Music of the future and in which concepts such as 'future' and 'time' play a role. They may be songs about time passing, about dreams of the future, or songs by composers*es who had no or little future prospects. They died young, were women or homosexuals or had to flee the ruling regime.
There is room for six singers. Each participant will have 20 minutes during the practice workshop to practise the chosen songs with Gilbert. And, of course, you will also learn a lot from each other. On Thursday 22 May, the festival stage will then be yours! You will have 9 minutes to perform your two chosen songs. You name the title and composer of your chosen repertoire and sing your songs with Gilbert den Broeder at the piano.
Sign up by uiterlijk zondag 6 april een mail te sturen aan educatie@ilfz.nl, waarin je aangeeft aan welke twee liederen je wilt werken. De liederen mogen samen maximaal 9 minuten duren.
Je hoeft geen geluidsopname aan te leveren. Er is plaats voor zes zangers. De plaatsing is in volgorde van binnenkomst. Dus wacht niet te lang met je aanmelding. Kort nadat we die binnen nemen we contact met je op.

Gilbert den Broeder / piano
Gilbert den Broeder specialised in accompanying and coaching singers. He worked with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, among others, and is active with De Nationale Opera en Ballet, De Nederlandse Reisopera, The Dutch National Opera Studio and the Opera Forward Festival. For the International Theatre Amsterdam, he coached actors Ramsey Nasr and Gijs Scholten van Aschat. He is also a pianist for various competitions such as the International Vocal Competition 's-Hertogenbosch. He also works as a pianist on various radio and television programmes and accompanied Thomas Quasthoff's master class week for young, talented singers for the Grote Zangers series.
