Masterclass by Manuela Ochakovski and Heleen Vegter

One-day masterclass for advanced amateur singers and young talent under the direction of a singing teacher Manuela Okhakovsky like a pianist Heleen Vegter. Registration is possible until Monday 26 October.
Would you like to sing yourself this autumn and develop your skills in liedkunst? Then the masterclass led by Manuela Ochakovski is just right for you. Sign up for this Internationaal Lied Festival Zeist masterclass at the atmospheric Torenlaan Theater in Zeist. Pianist Heleen Vegter will accompany you on the grand piano.
This masterclass is specifically designed for advanced amateur singers and young talent who want to develop further in the art of lied under the guidance of singing teacher Manuela Ochakovski, with top pianist Heleen Vegter at the grand piano—an unmissable opportunity! Would you like to develop your duet singing, or would you prefer to sing with your own pianist? That is also possible.
There is space for six participants preparing two lieder. The classical lied or a classical duet is the starting point for your choice of repertoire. Do not forget female composers and composers from the 20th century as well.e Ew.
Prior to the public masterclass, there is a private session in which you will get to know each other and sing the two liederen. The teachers will coordinate with you on which lied will be worked on during the public masterclass. Half an hour is available for each participant.
During the break and after the masterclass, there will be the opportunity to network and chat over a drink.

Applications close on Tuesday 27 October or as soon as the masterclass is fully booked.
Placement is in order of arrival. Following placement, you will receive an email detailing the participation fee and the method of payment. Only after payment of the fee is your placement confirmed.
Next, we will ask you which liedos or duets you would like to sing, and whether you would like to send us the sheet music, including the piano accompaniment, in the correct key.

Manuela Okhakovsky / singing teacher
Manuela Ochakovski graduated cum laude from the Music Academy in Iași, Romania. Following her studies, she worked as an opera singer at the Timisoara State Opera. Concert tours took her to major concert halls in Italy, the United States, Canada, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. She collaborated on several radio and TV recordings at the invitation of Romania's leading symphony orchestras.
Besides her career as a performing musician, Ochakovsky is active as a singing teacher. Her singing studio Il Portamento has now gained an international reputation, attracting singers from Europe and even Canada. She coaches professionals and also teaches amateurs.
Heleen Vegter / piano
After her piano principal study with Frank van de Laar at ArtEZ Conservatoire, the lied continued to hold a special attraction for Heleen Vegter. She took master classes with Elly Ameling, Robert Holl and Julius Drake, among others. As a Britten-Pears Young Artist, she worked with Angelika Kirchschlager, Anne Sofie von Otter and Kristian Bezuidenhout, among others. She has been heard at international festivals and played at Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ and the Concertgebouw, among others.
Vegter is initiator and artistic director of Stichting Leading Lied, which aims to make classical lied accessible to a wider audience. Outside her well-filled concert schedule, she teaches piano in her private practice in Arnhem and is co-organiser and board member of the national degree exams of the European Piano Teachers Association (EPTA).
