Amateur singers and young talent on stage with at the piano Gilbert den Broeder

Singing yourself on the Internationaal Lied Festival Zeist stage with a professional pianist behind the grand piano? The participating amateur singers*esses and -lied duos took up this challenge. They chose their own liederen and duets from the classical repertoire or a lighter genre such as French chansons and Dutch-language liederen. During the Open Stage, they will tell which liederen they chose and bring them to life with Gilbert den Broeder or their own pianist*e at the piano.

After the performances, there will be an opportunity to talk after.

Gilbert den Broeder / piano

Gilbert den Broeder is an inspired pianist with a keen ear for vocal expression and a great track record as an accompanist and coach of singers and opera stars. He studied piano at the Amsterdam Conservatory and specialised early on in accompanying and coaching vocalists - a profession he has mastered to perfection. For many years, Den Broeder was solo accompanist at the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam, where he worked with world-famous conductors. His musicality, astute coaching and infectious sense of humour make him popular with young talents and established names alike. Like no other, he knows how to get the best out of a voice and to empower people.
