International Song Festival Zeist and Friends of Song share a passion for song. Because what you give attention to grows, we both want to share that love with other enthusiasts and new audiences. That's why we have been working closely together since 2019, with Friends of the Song organising their annual Day of the Song on the first Saturday of the festival. It's the chance to get acquainted with all that song has to offer, whether you're already a connoisseur or coming for your first taste.
From morning to late afternoon, listen to recitals by established singers and pianists as well as young musicians. There is room for conservatory students, the performers of tomorrow, who will be given plenty of room to experiment with the performance of the song for their presentations. If you want to know more about the background of composing or the song genre itself, the Day of the Song is the right place for you, and even if you want to sing yourself, there is room for that. The Day of the Song is a day of song in action!
