German wandern stands for more than walking or going on foot. It means
also roam and wander, leaving the familiar behind. Whether out of curiosity, heartbreak, urge for adventure, homesickness, nostalgia or bitter survival instinct, on arrival the world and soul are different from what they were on departure.
