Dit jaar konden amateurzangeressen deelnemen aan het vrouwenkoor. Ze studeerden onder leiding van koordirigente Raghna Wissink prachtig romantisch repertoire in, waarin de natuur centraal staat. In de tuin van de Kleine Zaal, waar muziek en natuur in een betoverende harmonie samen kunnen komen, laten ze je genieten van koorwerken van onder andere Brahms, Schumann, Vaughan Williams en natuurlijk zingen ze ook de ‘titelsong’ About hill over dale by Amy Beach. Accompanying them are harpist Marleen de Bakker and horn players Misha Sporck and Austris Apenis.

Raghna Wissink / choral conductor
Raghna Wissink discovered the joy of singing together and her passion for conducting during her time at the Central Netherlands Choir School. In the years that followed, she sang in the Nationaal Jeudkoor and various professional choirs and ensembles. Wissink studied musicology at the University of Amsterdam and obtained a master's degree in choral conducting and bachelors in Classical Voice and Church Music at the ArtEZ Conservatoire in Zwolle. She is currently conductor of Vrouwenkamerkoor Hera, mixed chamber choir Musica Vocalis and Anthem - choir for church music in Zwolle. She conducts the Bach Cantatas in Blokzijl and has worked as a teacher with the National Choirs in the teaching town of Zutphen for over 15 years.
Marleen de Bakker / harp
Marleen de Bakker received harp lessons from Lavinia Meijer from the age of 14 and continued her studies at the Utrecht Conservatory with Erika Waardenburg, where she completed her master's with a 9.5. She developed into a versatile and expressive musician and is active as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral harpist. She performs regularly at home and abroad and is often asked as a substitute with renowned orchestras such as the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra. De Bakker is also active in chamber music and co-founder of Ensemble Pamoja and Duo Rosendahl/de Bakker, with which she explores the harp repertoire in innovative ways.
Austris Apenis / horn
Austris Apenis graduated from ArtEZ Zwolle, where he was taught by Rene Pagen and Stefan Blonk, solo hornists of the Residentie Orkest and the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century respectively. Earlier, he studied in Riga at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music. He also took lessons with renowned hornists such as Christian Lampert, Frøydis Ree Wekre, Radovan Vlatkovic, Frank Lloyd, Carsten Duffin and Will Sanders.
Apenis has worked with numerous orchestras and ensembles such as The Concertgebouw Orchestra, The Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Sinfonia Rotterdam, Camerata Bern and NNO. Besides his work as a performing musician, he is also a teacher.
Misha Sporck / horn
Mischa Sporck studied as a young talent at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague and obtained his bachelor's degree at the Amsterdam conservatoire, where he later also studied HaFaBra conducting. Thanks to an exchange, he was able to complete his master's studies at the Hochschule für Musik, Hanns Eisler in Berlin. Sporck was a remplaçant with several major orchestras, including the Lucerne Festival Academy Orchestra conducted by Pierre Boulez.
Besides his work as a horn player, he composes for wind and brass band orchestras, is a conductor with several societies and an arranger for the Netherlands Wind Ensemble, the Ricciotti ensemble and Ars Musica, among others. He is also a member of the Amsterdam Brass Quintet and is active as a horn teacher.
